Mr. Flynn is the head of the Employment Litigation Practice Group. Mr. Flynn has been recognized in Michigan Super Lawyers Magazine as a “Super Lawyer” in 2021, 2022, and 2023 and a “Rising Star” in 2019 and 2020. Mr. Flynn is the lead trial attorney in Zelma Motley v. Metro Man I, Inc. d/b/a Westwood Nursing Center, No. 2:20-cv-11313, one of the top 100 civil rights jury verdicts in the country in the year 2022. He is also a proud recipient of the Spirit of Detroit Award for his efforts in combating 2011 PA 4 (the “Emergency Manager” law).
Born and raised in Flint, Michigan, the labor movement has always been Keith Flynn's passion and the pursuit of social justice has always been his purpose. Mr. Flynn graduated summa cum laude from Albion College with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Management. He attended Michigan State University where he attained his Juris Doctorate cum laude and a Master’s degree in Human Resources and Labor Relations. While at Michigan State, he served on the editorial board of the Michigan State Law Review. He has worked for the National Labor Relations Board in Detroit, campaigned in more than two dozen political races throughout mid-Michigan, and acted as a member of the Bargaining Support Team at Michigan State University assisting in negotiating the first contract for a newly certified bargaining unit of non-tenured track faculty. He was elected and has served as the Chairman of the Genesee County Democratic Party from 2018 to 2020.
He has represented unions and workers throughout the State of Michigan in both the private and public sectors in negotiations, before federal and state courts, and on appeal before the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, the Michigan Supreme Court, and the Michigan Court of Appeals. He has also represented workers before the National Labor Relations Board, the Michigan Employee Relations Commission, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Michigan Department of Civil Rights, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity, the U.S. Department of Labor, and in private arbitration and mediation. Mr. Flynn has successfully litigated numerous cases securing millions of dollars for his clients.
