Robert D. Fetter

Robert D. Fetter is an attorney at Miller Cohen, PLC, in Detroit, Michigan. Mr. Fetter practices labor law, employment law and civil rights law, serving clients in the Detroit metropolitan area and statewide. He has over a decade of legal experience with cases involving unfair labor practices, wrongful discharge and other employment and labor law issues in state and federal courts.

In addition to the courtroom, Mr. Fetter has experience representing clients through litigation or arbitration before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Michigan Civil Rights Commission, the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity, the Michigan Employment Relations Commission, the National Labor Relations Board and the U.S. Department of Labor. He has obtained recoveries in the millions of dollars on behalf of his clients.

Dedicated to staying involved in his legal community, Mr. Fetter is an active member of several professional organizations. He belongs to the State Bar of Michigan, the Michigan Association for Justice, the Federal Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He holds licenses to practice law before all Michigan state courts, the U.S. district courts for the eastern and western districts of Michigan and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit.

After earning a bachelor’s degree, Mr. Fetter received his law degree from Wayne State University Law School. While pursuing his law degree, he participated in the law school’s moot court program and earned a master of business administration degree with a focus on industrial relations from Wayne State University. During his time in law school, he served as an intern for a federal judge.
