Details
A dynamic legal mind at Thacker Sleight PC in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Allison E. Sleight is more than just a lawyer – she’s a strategic thinker who knows that the approach to a legal case can be as crucial as the case itself. Motivated by a desire to create a more intimate and client-focused practice, she and her law partner founded a smaller firm. She is particularly passionate about utilizing technology to enhance client experiences and achieve better case outcomes.
Ms. Sleight’s legal practice spans a wide array of areas, including family law, divorce, custody, estate planning and business litigation. Her broad experience in both general business litigation and family law equips her with the skills needed to handle complex issues such as compensation disputes, accounting and business valuation, income tracing and collection efforts, with remarkable efficiency.
After earning her B.A. from Michigan State University in 2005, Ms. Sleight pursued her Juris Doctor at Valparaiso University School of Law Honors College, graduating magna cum laude in 2009 – the same year she was licensed to practice in Michigan. Whether negotiating settlements or advocating in court, she excels in managing all facets of litigation, from pre-trial hearings to trials and post-judgment matters in both state and federal courts.
Ms. Sleight has made notable contributions to the Michigan Family Law Journal, writing on topics like electronic privacy, social media and the intricacies of stock options in divorce cases. Recognized by her peers, she was nominated for a three-year term on the State Bar of Michigan Family Law Council and chaired the Grand Rapids Bar Association’s Family Law Section.
