A 1985 graduate of Michigan State University, Mr. Crampton obtained his Juris Doctor summa cum laude from Detroit College of Law (now Michigan State University College of Law) in 1990 where he was editor-in-chief of the Law Review. An Alumni Scholarship recipient in law school, he also received the DeWitt C. Holbrook Award, the Edward H. Rakow Scholarship Award and American Jurisprudence Book Awards for contracts, business associations, commercial transactions and ethics. He was also cited in the National Law Journal for an article he wrote for the Law Review.

Mr. Crampton is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit and the Michigan Supreme Court. He is a founding board member and treasurer of the Michigan Association of OWI Attorneys, and he is a member of the National College for DUI Defense, the Criminal Defense Attorneys of Michigan and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, among his other professional affiliations. Mr. Crampton has taught numerous seminars on the science involved in drunk driving cases, and is the author of the Breath and Blood Testing Chapter of Michigan Drunk Driving Law and Practice.
