After graduating with a B.A. in political science with a French minor at Clemson University, South Carolina, Ms. Springstead completed her master’s degree in international relations at the Boston University Brussels, Belgium. She then obtained her Juris Doctor from Georgetown Law, Washington, D.C. She worked as a special agent for the FBI from 2001 to 2005 and won the FBI’s Director's Award for Outstanding Investigation in 2003.
Permitted to practice in courts across Michigan, Ms. Springstead is closely associated with organizations, including the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Criminal Defense Attorneys of Michigan, the Michigan Association of OWI Attorneys, the State Bar of Michigan and the FBI Agents Association. In addition to a Superb rating and Client's Choice Award from Avvo, she is also the recipient of Award for Public Service from the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Virginia. The National Trial Lawyers also included her in its Top 100 Trial Lawyers list.
