Laura Skenderas

Laura Skenderas is an advocate who has dedicated herself to serving victims of sexual assault, fighting for their rights and ensuring that they are provided with justice and adequate compensation. She currently works at Michigan Sexual Assault Lawyers in Grand Rapids, Michigan, a firm committed to providing support and guidance to victims. She is licensed to practice in the state of Michigan. 

Ms. Skenderas is a member of the Insurance & Indemnity Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan. Starting as a defense attorney in sexual assault cases gave her the benefit of understanding how insurance companies work. She is keenly aware of the tactics and strategies corporations and individual defendants use to evade accountability. Her knowledge of insurance is instrumental in ensuring her clients justice and maximum compensation. 

Ms. Skenderas graduated from Wayne State University with a Bachelor of Arts in political science. She gained her J.D., magna cum laude, from Thomas M. Cooley Law School. She is a member of the Albanian-American Bar Association in Michigan and also the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan (WLAM) in the Macomb Region. The WLAM aims to secure women's rights and advance female lawyers' interests; promote improvements in justice administration, equality, and social justice; enhance relations between the legal profession and the public; and encourage ongoing legal education for lawyers.

Ms. Skenderas is known to be gentle and understanding and takes her time in listening to the victims and explaining to them the procedures.
