Shaun Willis is co-founder of Willis Law. He is admitted to practice in Michigan, the Michigan Supreme Court, the Federal Courts of the Western and Eastern District of Michigan, and the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals.
Shaun received a J.D. from Thomas Cooley Law School. He graduated with a B.S. in Aviation Flight Science from Western Michigan University. He is a licensed commercial pilot with a multi-engine rating. He was selected by Michigan Lawyer’s Weekly as one of Michigan’s Up and Coming Lawyers, an award presented to only 6 of 40,000 attorneys in Michigan. He is annually named Super Lawyers in construction and business litigation. He is annually selected by the National Trial Lawyers Association as a Top 100 Trial Lawyer in the Nation, and recognized as by US News as a Best Lawyer in America. Shaun has over 20 years of experience representing clients in various areas of litigation. His proficiency lies in handling business, personal injury, auto accident, real estate and construction litigation cases. With his offices in Kalamazoo, Grand Rapids, Paw Paw, and Chicago, he is well-equipped to assist clients all across the Nation, with his primary practice in Michigan in all Michigan State and the Federal Courts, as well as the Federal Court for the Western District of Michigan and the Federal Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. He is also committed to safeguarding the best interests of his clients with his professional and dedicated approach. Attorney Willis also serves as local counsel for out of state litigators with cases in Michigan.
Mr. Willis attained his bachelor's degree (2000) in aviation flight science from Western Michigan University, along with a minor in business studies. He later obtained his law degree from Western Michigan University, Thomas M. Cooley Law School, in 2002.
A committed community leader, Mr. Willis prioritizes serving others. He initiated pro bono clinics at the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission and the YWCA, ensuring that individuals unable to afford legal representation receive devoted legal assistance. Notably, his pro bono work with the YWCA involves representing abused and trafficked women.
Moreover, Mr. Willis generously volunteers as Co-President of the Board for the Corporal Christopher Kelly Willis Foundation, whose core objective is to provide college scholarships for children whose parents have been killed or 100% disabled in a combat zone. Beyond this, he serves or served on the boards of numerous reputable organizations, including Big Brothers Big Sisters Benefit Dinner Committee, Ducks Unlimited (former Chairman), Habitat for Humanity (former Board President), Park Village Pines (former Board President), Christian Business Round Table, Kalamazoo Christian School Association, and The Park Club of Kalamazoo (former Board President). Formerly, he was a board member of the Kalamazoo County Bar Association.
A respected legal professional, Mr. Willis shares his knowledge by conducting seminars on real estate law, business litigation and construction law. He has also authored multiple articles on these topics. Prior to establishing Willis Law, he honed his trial skills at the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney – Kalamazoo, Michigan, and at a National corporate law firm.
Mr. Willis is married to his lovely wife, Corrina Maria Willis, and they raise 7 children, 3 girls and 4 boys, and are members of Valley Family Church in Kalamazoo, MI. 2 of their sons work at Willis Law while going to school, starting in the basement and working their way up of course!
