The types of offenses that Mr. Boria has experience in defending include assault and battery, domestic violence, driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, drug possession and trafficking, and weapons violations. Mr. Boria has also handled cases involving fraud and other white collar crimes, traffic offenses, sex crimes, shoplifting and larceny, and he has provided representation to juveniles as well as adults.
As an undergraduate, Mr. Boria attended the University of Michigan and received a Bachelor of Business Administration in 2007. He pursued his legal education at what was then known as Thomas M. Cooley Law School and was awarded his Juris Doctor in 2010. Mr. Boria gained his initial criminal defense experience through his work with the Washtenaw County Office of Public Defender in Ann Arbor. He has taken additional courses at Northwood University on field sobriety and chemical breath and blood tests, and this education has enabled him to provide a more aggressive defense for clients who have been charged with driving under the influence.
Mr. Boria is admitted to practice before all Michigan state courts. He has been invited to deliver presentations on a variety of criminal defense topics, including concealed firearms licensing, as well as subjects that are not associated with his practice area such as building a small firm practice. He is a member of the Wayne County Bar Association, the Michigan Association of OWI Attorneys, and the Oakland County Bar Association.
