    For more than 25 years, Michael L. Steinberg has developed an intimate knowledge of Michigan laws and has dedicated his practice to providing the best possible representation to his clients. Mr. Steinberg, who operates three different law offices in Detroit, Royal Oak and Mount Clemens, works primarily on criminal defense cases, which includes defending against charges such as murder, rape, theft, assault and battery as well as drug and alcohol offenses such as DUI, driving drugged, drug trafficking and manufacturing. He also practices in Family Law Court and works with cases involving the termination of paternal rights and parental neglect.

    In 1985, Mr. Steinberg graduated from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County with a bachelor's degree, and he obtained a law degree in 1990 from Thomas M. Cooley Law School where he focused on building experience in criminal defense. Currently, Mr. Steinberg is a member of the National College for DUI Defense and the American Civil Liberties Union. He serves on the board of directors for the Criminal Defense Attorneys of Michigan and received the designation of Constitutional Warrior. Since 1991, Mr. Steinberg has also been a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and Macomb County Bar Association criminal law and juvenile law committees. He is also on the Member Board of Directors for the Criminal Defense Attorneys of Michigan, and he received a certification in defending against drug recognition experts in Michigan in 2013.  Mike is currently serving on the Macomb County Indigent Defense Tash Force to implement legislative mandates on defending the poor

    Mr. Steinberg also gives back to the legal community by advanced training to practicing attorneys and working as a mentor for new lawyers. He speaks at many seminars designed to help educate criminal defense attorneys and offers courses on advanced trial skills.  He has over 20 years of service to CDAM's Education Committee and just presented on evidentiary issues in domestic violence cases at the Spring 2016 conference
