M. Timothy Gergely

Before pursuing his degree in law, Mr. Gergely received a bachelor’s degree from Hope College. He then enrolled at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law in Michigan to hone his legal acumen and advocacy skills. He earned his Juris Doctor in 1994 and in the same year gained licensure to practice in Michigan. Additionally, he is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Michigan and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit. He has extensive experience in handling trials in federal courts and appeals.

Known for his empathy and compassion, Mr. Gergely ensures that his clients feel heard and their needs understood. Among his cases that have been featured in Michigan Lawyers Weekly, he won a $1.3 million settlement for an injured driver. He also won a settlement of a $1.8 million jury verdict in a wrongful death and negligence claim for the plaintiff.

In the legal fraternity, Mr. Gergely stays active and updates with initial developments in his legal scope through his memberships with various organizations. He is a member of the Negligence Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan, the Michigan Association for Justice, the Kalamazoo County Trial Lawyers Association, the St. Joseph County Bar Association and the American Association for Justice.
