David E. Christensen is the founding partner and a trial attorney at Christensen Law, based in Southfield, Michigan, where he represents individuals and families who have suffered serious injuries due to someone’s negligence. His practice focuses on personal injury cases, including car crashes, truck accidents, boating accidents, motorcycle accidents and no-fault cases, as well as traumatic brain injuries, spinal injuries and other closed head injuries.
Mr. Christensen graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in international relations from San Francisco State University in 1983. He later received his master’s degree from the University of Michigan and went on to pursue his legal studies at the University of Michigan Law School, where he obtained his Juris Doctor in 1991.
With more than three decades of experience in the law practice, Mr. Christensen has achieved significant jury verdicts for injured clients. Notably, he secured a $17.8 million verdict in 2014 for a woman injured by a rear-ending cement truck, which is one of Michigan’s largest personal injury verdicts, and a $2.09 million jury verdict in 2009 for a client seriously injured in a car crash – recognized as the state’s largest that year.
Beyond his courtroom achievements, Mr. Christensen remains active in various legal organizations. He serves as secretary and an executive board member at the Michigan Association for Justice and is a member of the State Bar of Michigan (SBM) Representative Assembly. He formerly served as chair of the SBM Negligence Law Section in 2011, and for his many contributions, he received an AV Preeminent* peer-review rating through Martindale-Hubbell.
