Julian J. Poota

As founder of the Law Office of Julian J. Poota, PLLC, Mr. Poota is committed to representing clients in the Detroit Metro area and throughout the state of Michigan. He focuses his practice on criminal defense cases that involve drug crimes, white collar crimes, theft offenses, assault charges, misdemeanors, felonies, drunk driving, traffic violations, weapons charges and sex crimes.

After graduating magna cum laude from Wayne State University with a Bachelor of Arts, Mr. Poota went on to earn a Juris Doctor in 2004 from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. During his time there, he participated in moot court competitions.

Committed to defending the rights of people, Mr. Poota provides the best possible representation to his clients. He understands the challenges that people face, whether they have been charged with a crime or have suffered an injustice. With a comprehensive knowledge of the law, he makes himself readily available to clients and understands that open communication is key to building a strong case. Mr. Poota is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Michigan and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.

Active in the legal community, Mr. Poota is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society, the State Bar of Michigan, and the American Bar Association. He is also a partner with the Institute of Continuing Legal Education.
