Marvin D. Karana

Marvin D. Karana is the founder of Karana Law PLLC located in Southfield, Michigan. Mr. Karana practices tax law and serves clients in Michigan and nationwide. His firm is a full-service accounting and tax resolution firm with a focus on state tax and IRS liabilities. He has been a licensed attorney since 2008 and has several years of experience in both business and consumer tax law.

Mr. Karana has handled matters involving bank levies, collection actions and wage garnishments and is a seasoned negotiator when it comes to helping taxpayers obtain relief such as innocent spouse relief, installment agreements and penalty abatement. He understands the stress that a tax collection action may have on an individual and ensures that his clients will receive no further IRS contact after retaining his services.

In addition to his practice, Mr. Karana enjoys educating others on tax issues and topics. He authored an article titled “IRS investigating Shaggy 2 Dope from Insane Clown Posse,” which appeared in The Washington Times in 2015. He also spoke on taxes for business for the Gratiot Area Chamber of Commerce in 2017.

An active member of his legal community, Mr. Karana belongs to various professional organizations, including the Chaldean American Bar Association, the Oakland County Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Wayne State University and received his law degree from Wayne State University Law School. He founded his firm in 2010 and is admitted to practice in all Michigan state courts.
