Steven M. Hickey

Mr. Hickey is a 37-year veteran with experience in business law, commercial and civil litigation, insurance coverage and insurance litigation, and legal malpractice.  He practices in state and federal courts. His practice has included extensive experience in the business law issues that confront start up, small and mid-size businesses, business-related litigation, and civil litigation involving personal injuries from toxic exposure claims, mechanical product liability, premises liability and more.  He has practiced extensively in the area of insurance coverage analysis and litigation, and he was recently elected to the Council of the Insurance and Indemnity Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan.  Since 1986 he has served as medical counsel to over 50 corporations in asbestos litigation. Mr. Hickey handles the prosecution of Directors & Officers liability claims and legal malpractice claims.  He has been selected by his peers and included in The Best Lawyers in America since 2013.  He is rated AV Preeminent by the bench and bar, and has been AV rated by Martindale Hubbell for 35 years.  In 2018 he was honored as one of Michigan Lawyer's Weekly "Lawyers of the Year."
