Derek A. Patrin has been a stalwart advocate for his clients for over 25 years, providing them with all the legal tools to fight serious criminal allegations, with special emphasis on DUI/DWI cases. At The DWI Guys P.A. in Andover, Minnesota, he serves clients in the surrounding region as well as across the metropolitan area of the Twin Cities.
Throughout his multifaceted career, Mr. Patrin has emerged as a pillar of leadership within his legal community, and he has been rated a perfect 10 on Avvo, along with hosting myriad positive client testimonials on the site as well. He understands the hardships that come with dealing with a contentious criminal charge while simultaneously handling day-to-day affairs, and he takes on his clients’ legal burdens so that they can take care of their loved ones and themselves during this difficult time.
Mr. Patrin completed his undergraduate studies in 1996, graduating with his Bachelor of Arts degree in Chinese language and international relations from the University of Minnesota. He went on to attend the University of Minnesota Law School, and during his time there, he served as the director of the International Moot Court Team and was included in the dean’s list. He received his Juris Doctor in 1998, and a year later, he obtained his license to practice law in Minnesota.
Outside his law practice, Mr. Patrin maintains close affiliations with many prominent legal organizations, including the Minnesota DWI Attorneys, the Minnesota State Bar Association (Criminal Law Section), the Minnesota Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and Anoka County Bar Association. In addition, he is a lifetime member of Worldwide Who’s Who.
