Gary M. Hazelton

Gary M. Hazelton is the founder and owner of the Hazelton Law Group located in Bemidji, Minnesota. Certified as a civil trial law specialist by the Minnesota State Bar Association, he focuses his practice primarily on personal injury and wrongful death litigation, providing representation to clients across the state who have suffered economic and noneconomic losses due to the negligence of other persons or entities. The types of cases that Mr. Hazelton has handled have arisen out of incidents involving truck and other motor vehicle crashes, dramshop law actions against bar owners, dog bites, nursing home abuse, and hospital negligence, medication errors, and other forms of medical malpractice. He also has experience in environmental tort litigation.

Mr. Hazelton is frequently asked to deliver presentations on topics related to his practice area. Some of the subjects he has covered have included furnishing alcohol to minors, snowmobile liability, direct examination of lay witnesses and punitive damages in drunk driving accidents. He has also had several articles published. Mr. Hazelton is a 1980 recipient of a Bachelor of Science in industrial education from Bemidji State University. He then went on to pursue a legal education at the University of North Dakota School of Law and was awarded his Juris Doctor in 1984. Admitted to practice before all Minnesota and North Dakota state courts, Mr. Hazelton is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota, the U.S. District Court for the District of North Dakota and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin.
