As part of Smith Jadin Johnson, PLLC, he handles cases of insurance appraisals and litigation, community association law, and construction defect litigation.

With over 15 years of experience, Mr. Smith is a skilled negotiator and trial lawyer and is admitted to practice in the state of Minnesota and before the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota. Currently he is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association and frequently lectures for CIC Midwest and CAI Minnesota. He has also previously represented clients in Wisconsin and South Dakota.

Mr. Smith earned a Bachelor of Arts from Hamline University, graduating summa cum laude with a major in sociology. In 2001, he graduated from the University of Minnesota Law School with a Juris Doctor and has been representing property owners in disputes with insurance companies and contractors since then. With his experience, he is also knowledgeable in insurance bad faith, insurance policies and coverage, and has presented in both national and local educational seminars on these topics.

A talented writer, he has written for publications such as the National Association of Public Insurance Adjusters, the Contractors Association of Minnesota, Sharper Management, Gassen Companies, the National Business Institute and CAI-MN. Mr. Smith has also presented at the firm’s law seminar on cases relevant to insurance companies and policyholders, and has represented property owners in appeals, civil lawsuits and insurance appraisals before the Minnesota Supreme Court and the Minnesota Court of Appeals.
