He earned his Juris Doctor with recognition on both the national dean’s list and dean’s list from Mitchell Hamline School of Law in 2000. Prior to that, he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in political science and public administration from the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse in 1997, where he was a dean’s list student and participated in the Mock Trial and Pre-Law Club.
Mr. Schiek launched his legal career in 1999 as a law clerk at Philip G. Villaume & Associates, now Villaume & Schiek, and was hired as an attorney the following year. Since becoming a partner in 2000, he has advocated for professionals and organizations in employment-related disputes. He also provides pro bono legal assistance to Minnesota’s Amish community. He has also argued cases before the Minnesota Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court.
