Kirsten (Kit) J. Hansen

Kirsten (Kit) J. Hansen is a civil litigation attorney at Stich Angell, P.A., in Bloomington, Minnesota, where she represents individuals, corporations, and insurance companies in a wide range of complex disputes. Her practice includes, personal injury, nursing home and assisted living defense, employment and discrimination matters, property damage, construction defect claims, insurance coverage issues, transportation-related litigation and general liability cases. 

Ms. Hansen also maintains an active appellate practice, representing clients in appeals involving significant legal questions. With more than two decades of litigation experience, she is known for her strategic approach and her ability to handle complicated matters with confidence and precision. She regularly advocates for clients in both state and federal courts and has successfully tried multiple cases to verdict.

In addition to courtroom litigation, Ms. Hansen has resolved hundreds of disputes through mediation and arbitration, helping clients achieve efficient and practical outcomes. Her experience across trial and alternative dispute resolution forums allows her to evaluate cases from multiple perspectives and develop strategies tailored to each client’s objectives. She also has experience handling appellate matters, where her strong legal research and writing skills support effective advocacy at the appellate level.

Ms. Hansen earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Minnesota Law School after completing her Bachelor of Arts in history, magna cum laude, at St. Catherine University. She has been admitted to practice since 2002 and is licensed in both Minnesota and Wisconsin. She is also admitted to the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota, the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit. Outside of her legal practice, she supports community organizations, including Patriot Assistance Dogs.
