    Mr. Bjerke attended the University of St. Thomas. In 1993, he graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts, then attended the University of Minnesota Law School. There he again graduated cum laude with his Juris Doctor in 1994. He is currently a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association and the Minnesota Association for Justice. A former chair of the Education and Product Liability Committees of the Minnesota Association for Justice, Mr. Bjerke also works with a group of judges and lawyers in the state to shape jury instructions in cases of product liability.

    • In May 2014, Nate lectured to group of trial lawyers from across the Upper Midwest about his experience with mock trials and how to use the information gleaned from the mock jurors to tighten and tweak the message and themes presented at trial., Speaker, Minnesota Association For Justice, 2014
    • In November 2014, Nate lectured to a group of trial lawyers concerning technical engineering and biomechanical aspects of lower energy crashes.  Specifically, Nate discussed some of the physics behind accident reconstruction and how to attack poorly developed and supported expert opinions., Presenter, 2014
    • Nate served as a faculty member of the 2018 ABOTA "Masters of Trial Seminar." This course was a mock trial with hand-picked trial lawyers who demonstrated all areas of a trial.  Nate was asked to present a direct examination of an accident reconstruction expert., Presenter, ABOTA, 2018


    • In 2018, Nate represented a young girl who was injured at a daycare center when she fell on a piece of playground equipment. The equipment did not meet national safety standards and as a result, the girl sustained a significant brain injury. Nate settled the case for a confidential sum and an agreement by the center to retrofit all similar playground equipment to keep children safe., 2018
    • Nate represented a woman who suffered a permanent neck injury that required surgery when a suspension component on her Ford Taurus failed and punctured her tire.  The case settled for a confidential sum during litigation., 2011
    • Nate tried a case in Hennepin County for an injured couple in their sixties who were involved in a head-on car crash that resulted in multiple orthopedic injuries to both and a brain injury to the husband.  The insurance company's best offer before trial was $350,000.  The jury returned a net verdict of just over $4.1 million., 2012
    • A Ramsey County jury returned a verdict of nearly $300,000 to a man who was rear-ended and permanently injured his neck, resulting in multiple procedures called RFN to kill the nerves in his neck to lessen his pain.     • Nate represented the family of a woman who was killed when she was T-boned while driving a Kia Motors automobile because her side-airbag did not deploy.  The case settled for a confidential sum after Nate filed the lawsuit., 2011
    • In the summer of 2018, Nate and his partner, Patrick Kranz, tried a case in Hennipen County for a young woman who was hit on 694 by an inattentive semi-truck driver. The young woman was permanently injured and her doctors say she needs lifetime care, including painful injection procedures in her neck and back. The trucking company's insurance carrier offered only $75,000 and after a five-day trial, the jury returned a verdict of $362,000 and finding the trucking company 100% responsible for the crash., 2018
    • Nate tried a case in Washington County for a young woman who was rear-ended by a pickup truck on Highway 36. As a result of the crash, Nate’s client underwent a sacro-iliac joint fusion and later suffered from a debilitating condition called Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, or CRPS. After 6 days of trial, the jury returned a verdict of $1.1 million., 2013
    • A Ramsey County jury returned a verdict against Allstate for more than $525,000 to a woman who broke a bone in her back in a motorcycle crash. Allstate’s highest offer before trial was less than $100,000., 2011
    • Nate and his Texas co-counsel secured a significant settlement from Michelin for their client, a then 11-year-old boy, who was suffered a serious brain injury after the SUV he was riding in rolled because a Michelin tire lost its tread.  The case settled for a confidential amount after suit was filed in Hennepin County., 2014
    • After months of discovery and depositions of corporate witnesses, Nate built a case against a corporation that manufactured a truck with defective suspension components that failed and caused a truck to rollover, resulting in orthopedic and brain injuries to the driver.  A month before trial, Nate convinced the manufacturer of the truck to pay a significant but confidential sum to settle the case., 2014
    • In 2017, Nate tried a case for a woman in Blue Earth County who was permanently injured when a school bus ran a yield sign, causing a collision with the woman's car. The bus company's insurance carrier made a negligible offer before trial. The Blue Earth County jury returned a verdict with damages of nearly $500,000.00 including costs and interest. The trial court severely cut the damage award and Nate's team appealed the ruling. In 2018, the Minnesota Court of Appeals reversed the trial court, restoring full justice to the injured woman., 2017
    • Nate sued Kawasaki for his client who was injured when he fell off the back of a Kawasaki Jet Ski and was de-bowelled by the jet wash.  The case settled after months of litigation for a confidential sum., 2012
