Philip G. Villaume

Attorney Philip G. Villaume is a partner with the Villaume & Schiek, P.A., law firm in Bloomington, Minnesota. Licensed to practice in Minnesota and Wisconsin, Mr. Villaume represents clients throughout both states with their legal needs involving criminal defense and employment law.

A top-rated attorney with 40 years of legal experience, Mr. Villaume has received national recognition for his extensive legal knowledge concerning criminal law and procedure, employment law issues and professional ethics.

Along with his legal practice, Mr. Villaume conducts lectures across the country on topics related to his practice areas, and he once served as adjunct professor at both the University of Minnesota and the Mitchell Hamline School of Law. He currently teaches law at the University of St. Thomas School of Law, and he is the author of The Law & Procedure Handbook for Minnesota Educators, as well as other published works.

A 1971 magna cum laude graduate of Macalester College, Mr. Villaume obtained his Juris Doctor from Mitchell Hamline School of Law in 1979. That same year, the Minnesota State Bar Association admitted him to practice, and the State Bar of Wisconsin admitted him in 1984. He is also admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court.

He is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association, the Hennepin County Bar Association and a former member of the Minnesota Judicial Merit Selection Committee. He also has served as faculty member for the National Institute for Trial Advocacy, The Professional Education Group, at the University of Northern Florida's Institute of Police Technology and Management  and the National Business Institute.
