Megan L. Brooks

Megan works with people throughout the State of Minnesota in dissolution, custody, paternity, harassment and order for protection matters. Her work with the community includes a sliding scale fee to ensure that everyone has access to a lawyer and volunteering with Legal Assistance of Dakota gives her a further reach to the community as a whole.

The private and public matters surrounding a dissolution can be extremely complex and emotionally charged for everyone involved. Megan comes with experience both professionally and personally when it comes to high conflict dissolution matters to allow her clients to express their needs and find a resolution that best suits the situation.

Many of her cases involve complex custody, parenting time and financial disputes. Megan first attempts to work with her client to attempt to negotiate a resolution through settlement discussions, often through mediation. When settlement is unsuccessful or not practical, Megan works with her clients in seeking determinations through the court, when necessary and prudent.
