After getting a bachelor’s degree in journalism from South Dakota State University in 1985, Mr. Meinerts attended Mitchell Hamline School of Law, where he graduated with a Juris Doctor in 1993 with active participation in the school’s Journal of Public Law and Policy and Jessup Cup International Law Moot Court Team. Since 1993, he has been legally allowed to represent clients in Minnesota state courts and the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota.

He is also a member of the First Judicial District Panel of Parenting Time Expeditors, the Legal Assistance of Dakota County and the State of Minnesota Commission on Judicial Selection.
