Mr. Kelsch provides customized legal services in the areas of construction law, creditor/debtor rights (including bankruptcy), and real estate law. The circumstances that give rise to the necessity of legal representation in these areas is often complex and emotionally-charged. Mr. Kelsch's clients are given personal attention throughout the entire legal process to make the experience as painless as possible. With a focused practice built on decades of legal experience, he is uniquely equipped to handle the most challenging legal issues. Mr. Kelsch fairly structures his fees to fit the specific needs of his clients.
Construction Law: Mr. Kelsch represents both owners and contractors in payment and performance disputes, including the efficient filing and resolution of mechanic’s liens. He also works with clients in drafting and reviewing contracts to minimize the risk of litigation.
Creditor/Debtor Rights: Mr. Kelsch has extensive experience handling all facets of creditor/debtor rights, including bankruptcy, such as: debt negotiation; judgment enforcement; asset protection; taxation offers in compromise; filing bankruptcy petitions on behalf of corporate and individual debtors; defending and prosecuting bankruptcy exemption/discharge objections and fraudulent transfer/preference claims, and; preparing and filing proofs of claim. He has represented corporate and individual debtors, creditors, unsecured creditors’ committees, and bankruptcy trustees in Chapters 7, 11, and 13 of the Bankruptcy Code.
Real Estate: Mr. Kelsch works with clients in resolving disputes related to contracts for deed, association liens/violations, purchase agreement non-disclosures, and boundary line issues. He also negotiates short sales, deeds in lieu of foreclosure, and foreclosures.
A graduate of the University of Oklahoma, Mr. Kelsch obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1995, where he graduated cum laude. In 1999, he graduated with distinction from the University of North Dakota School of Law. Mr. Kelsch is admitted to practice in Minnesota, the U.S. District Court for Minnesota, and the Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit. He is a member of the Hennepin County Bar Association and the Minnesota Bar Association.
