Laurie A. Cylkowski

Laurie A. Cylkowski is a respected and skilled attorney and the founder of Cylkowski Law Office, P.A, serving individuals and families throughout the Twin Cities and greater metro area of Minnesota. For over 25 years, she has remained committed to guiding clients through divorce and other family legal issues involving child custody, property division, spousal support, post-divorce modifications, domestic abuse and paternity. She also accepts clients facing legal issues related to civil rights, employment discrimination and special education law.

As compassionate as she is aggressive, Ms. Cylkowski understands that legal complications can be emotionally charged and convoluted for her clients and offers steadfast, strategic advice to help them move through to the other side in a more positive form. She has represented individual who have been discriminated and/or wrongfully terminated in the work place and the rights of school children who are eligible for individualized education programs (IEPs), helping them receive tailored special education services and support programs.

After graduating cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in international business from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota, Ms. Cylkowski earned a doctorate in law from Mitchell Hamline College of Law. She has been licensed to practice in all district courts in the State of Minnesota since 1997.  

Ms. Cylkowski is a trustworthy member of the local bar associations such as the Minnesota State Bar Association – Family Law Section and Children and the Law Section, the Dakota County Bar Association, the Council of Parent Attorneys and Advocates, Inc. (COPAA), the Cooperative Practice Network of Minnesota, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the American Legion, Post 1776.  Ms. Cylkowski has provided volunteer representation to children in foster care, through the Children's Law Center of Minnesota, since 2012.  Ms. Cylkowski is a Veteran of the United States Army, having served in Berlin, Germany during the Cold War as a Signals Intelligence Analyst.  

A graceful and expressive speaker, Ms. Cylkowski has presented a number of seminars on topics such as divorce, sexual harassment, workplace discrimination, the Family Medical Leave Act and more.
