Involved in many leadership roles, Mr. Kins serves on the board of the Minnesota First District Bar Association.  He was elected by his peers to serve as Secretary/Treasurer of that organization in 2020, Vice-President in 2021, and and as President in 2022.

Mr. Kins volunteers his time through Criminal Defense Services, Incorporated, as a misdemeanor and felony panel attorney to underserved populations. He is also a volunteer attorney for Legal Assistance of Dakota County, Ltd. and a volunteer mentor at the University of St. Thomas School of Law.  Mr. Kins was recently unanimously approved by the Dakota County Board of Commissioners to serve on the Dakota County Personnel Board of Appeals through 2023 in a position which addresses employment disputes within the county.

Mr. Kins earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Minnesota and received his law degree from the University of St. Thomas School of Law. He holds licenses to practice in Minnesota and Wisconsin and before the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota.
