Steven Budke has dedicated the past decade to general criminal defense, emphasizing the restoration of gun rights and the process of expungements. Operating from his office at Leverson Budke in Eagan, Minnesota, he serves clients throughout the Twin Cities area. Beyond criminal defense, he also provides valuable legal counsel in areas such as DUI/DWI cases, as well as estate planning and probate matters, ensuring comprehensive support for his clients' legal needs.

At the core of his practice, Mr. Budke believes that a good attorney relentlessly fights for his client and makes sure their rights are protected. Drawing on this belief, he approaches each case with an open mind and open ears, making sure his clients feel heard. Through this client-centered approach, he has negotiated several optimal outcomes for his clients and has successfully argued for dismissal in various others.

Mr. Budke understands how deeply a conviction can derail one’s career and personal life. Committed to minimizing this impact, he provides tireless, empathetic advocacy to alleviate his clients’ stress. A key part of his practice is helping them secure a true fresh start through record sealing and expungements. By restricting public access to past mistakes, he ensures a single legal challenge doesn't dictate their future.

Completing his undergraduate degree in English literature, Mr. Budke proceeded to pursue his legal studies at William Mitchell College of Law (currently Mitchell Hamline School of Law). He was admitted to practice law in Minnesota in 2014. Active in the legal community, he previously served as co-chair of the Gun Law – Owning, Carrying and Using Firearms conference in Minnesota, organized by Minnesota Continuing Legal Education in 2021. He also teaches criminal law, constitutional criminal procedure and evidence as an adjunct professor at his alma mater.
