Alexandria M. Mueller

Alexandria M. Mueller is an established attorney in Minnesota focusing her practice on the fields of entertainment law, intellectual property, business/corporate and sports law, with a strong creative background as a professional music composer. Working at Hellmuth & Johnson, located in Edina, Minnesota, for almost four years now, she primarily takes on cases in the Greater Minneapolis–St. Paul metro area in Minnesota.

Ms. Mueller’s clientele includes professionals from across the creative disciplines, including composers, musicians, filmmakers, writers, artists, software developers and studio owners. As a creative soul herself, who knows the pain and toil that goes into the creation of art, she can connect to the emotions of her clients on a professional and personal level. This gives her leverage over her competitors in understanding the ultimate objectives of her clients and crafting creative strategies to turn the odds in their favor.

With almost seven years of experience concentrated in the same fields of law, Ms. Mueller has worked for many reputed firms within this tenure. She has had experience handling issues related to copyright disputes and transfer, property rights, contract violations and content clearance violations. She also aids her clients with simple and complicated legal matters such as conducting assessments, advising businesses, reviewing license agreements, revising market strategies, assisting third-party rights clearance, and drafting and filing other commercial/civil litigation.

Ms. Mueller graduated from the Berklee College of Music with a professional certificate in composition and orchestration for film and television. She graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in music and business administration in 2013 from the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point, where she also received the Melvin R. Laird Exceptional Artist Award, the Albertson Medallion Award and the Chancellor’s Leadership Award. At the Mitchell Hamline School of Law, she completed her Juris Doctor cum laude with a special focus on Intellectual Property Law. Even at the law school, an array of recognitions and positions of leadership followed her academic and co-scholastic achievements.

Passionate about imparting her knowledge to others, Ms. Mueller has taught the students at the Mitchell Hamline School of Law as an adjunct assistant professor and at the Institute of Production and Recording as an instructor for intellectual property, entertainment business, contracts and licensing. She directs her negotiating skills to getting her clients settlements outside of court, saving them the time to work on their content, rather than leading it to long-drawn litigation.  

The Minnesota State Bar Association has selected Ms. Mueller multiple times to its list of North Star Lawyers, recognizing her time and efforts for her pro bono services. She was also named to the list of Up & Coming Attorneys by the Minnesota Lawyer. Moreover, she serves as the chair of the Sports, Arts and Entertainment Law Section of the Minnesota State Bar Association.
