Amy M. Byrne

Minnesota State Bar Association (MSBA) certified real property law specialist Amy M. Byrne is an attorney at Hellmuth & Johnson in Edina, Minnesota. She handles matters related to real estate, business and corporate law in transactions, and litigation and appeals. Focusing primarily on commercial and residential real estate cases, she manages purchases and sales, leasing, property vendor contracts, financing, noncompliance notices, and lien enforcement.

Ms. Byrne graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in law and society from Armstrong State University (now the Georgia Southern University – Armstrong Campus) in 2016. She proceeded to earn her Juris Doctor in 2019 from the University of Minnesota Law School and was also included in the dean’s list. After gaining licensure to practice law in Minnesota the same year she graduated from law school, she also acquired admission to practice before the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota in 2022. 

As a member of LegalCORPS, Ms. Byrne provides pro bono services to businesses, enterprises and nonprofits with limited resources. For her contributions as a pro bono lawyer, she was recognized as a North Star Lawyer by the MSBA in 2023. Following her substantial involvement in real estate law and her commitment to professional ethics, she was included in the 2026 edition of Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch. She was previously included in the 2024 edition for her contribution to commercial litigation and corporate law. 

As a member of the MSBA Real Property Council, Ms. Byrne contributes her expertise to the section’s purpose of fostering professional development and providing resources for law practitioners specializing in real property law. Additionally, she is a member of the Minnesota Real Estate Investors Association, showcasing her dedication to learning and understanding the latest developments in real estate law.
