Clayton W. Chan is principal at Chan, PLLC Law Offices, and represents clients in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and the St. Paul metropolitan area. With a Bachelor of Science in Economics, Mr. Chan graduated cum laude from the University of Minnesota College of Liberal Arts Honors Division. He completed the major coursework requirements for a Master of Business Taxation from the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management, before attending law school. In 2000, he earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Minnesota Law School when he graduated cum laude.
In 2007, Mr. Chan was named by Minnesota Lawyer as an Up & Coming Attorney, and he is Lead Counsel rated. A member of the American Bar Association’s Asset Protection Committee, as well as the Minnesota State Bar Association. He is admitted to practice in the state of Minnesota and represents clients across a wide variety of backgrounds from young couples starting their financial journey to well established Fortune 500 executives and large farm owners. Mr. Chan also represents closely held business owners and their business succession planning.
An active member of his community, Mr. Chan is a past mentor for the University of Minnesota Law School’s Winthrop & Weinstine Minority Mentorship Program, the University of St. Thomas School of Law’s Mentorship Program and the Minneapolis Edison High School’s writing program designed to help disadvantaged youth members of the community. He is also former vice president and co-founder of the Minnesota Chapter of the National Association of Asian American Professionals.
