J. Robert Keena

Attorney J. Robert Keena is a partner with the law firm of Hellmuth & Johnson in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where he also serves on the firm's board of governors. At the firm, Mr. Keena chairs the litigation department, leading a team of 35 litigation attorneys with their efforts representing individual and commercial clients throughout Minnesota, North Dakota and Illinois.

A tenacious litigator and creative problem solver, Mr. Keena embraces the opportunity to handle complex and challenging legal issues. A 1991 graduate of the University of Minnesota Twin Cities, Mr. Keena obtained his Juris Doctor in 1995 from Golden Gate University School of Law, where he received a criminal law award for his exceptional academic achievements. Along with practicing before all Minnesota state courts, he also practices before the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit. In addition, he holds his license to practice law in both North Dakota and Illinois.

Well-versed in his practice areas, Mr. Keena frequently writes and speaks on a variety of legal topics involving construction law and litigation. Recognized for his extensive legal knowledge, he has offered commentary on several television news programs and been cited in a number of news and trade publications. Fully committed to his practice, he is actively involved with both the Minnesota State Bar Association and the Hennepin County Bar Association.
