As a partner and family law attorney at Hellmuth & Johnson in Edina, Minnesota, Suzanne M. Remington supports Minnesota clients going through issues revolving around divorce, child support and custody, spousal maintenance, division of assets, appeals, and guardianship and conservatorship. In addition to representing clients in courts, she offers alternative dispute resolution options depending on their needs and circumstances.
A humane attorney genuinely concerned about her family law clients, Ms. Remington is highly skilled at analyzing the income of the involved parties to pursue fair payment of child support and distribution of assets. While extremely focused on helping her clients with their legal issues, she leaves no stone unturned to relieve their stress.
With a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Indiana University Bloomington, Ms. Remington received her Juris Doctor from Loyola University Chicago School of Law. She is certified in civil mediation and is a qualified neutral under Rule 114. For more than 20 years, she has represented her clients before the Minnesota Supreme Court, the Minnesota Court of Appeals and several district court judges in the Minneapolis-St. Paul metro and the surrounding region.
Admitted to Minnesota and Illinois state courts, Ms. Remington is an active member of the Hennepin County Bar Association, the Eighth District of the Minnesota State Bar Association, the Minnesota Women Lawyers and the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts. She has been recognized as one of the top attorneys in family law by Best Lawyers in America.
Attorney Remington co-founded and co-chaired Hennepin County Financial Early Neutral Evaluation Pilot Project. She regularly presents and trains her peers on financial early neutral evaluation, effective marital dissolution practices and the new child support statutes. With a commitment to serve her community, she has presided over expedited child support hearings as a child support magistrate.
