J. Scott Braden

J. Scott Braden is a celebrated attorney within his legal community, maintaining consistency in his eminent advocacy in every case he has handled for over 40 years. At Messick Law, PLLC, in Faribault, Minnesota, he is well-adept at handling complex estate planning challenges with an emphasis on all aspects of guardianships and conservatorships, as well as wills and trusts, and sale of real estate, family law and elder law, among many others. 

A consummate professional through and through, Mr. Braden gives his clients the support and comfort they require during this stressful time, and his compassion shines through in his deft counsel. With an immense practical knowledge of estate planning, he is keenly aware of what steps to take to maximize benefits for his clients, no matter how niche their requirements may be. A Rule 114 qualified neutral, he strives to resolve contentious issues using mediation and arbitration to save on time and costs, as well as any undue stress. 

Mr. Braden completed his undergraduate studies in 1978, graduating with his bachelor's degree from Saint John’s University. He then went on to enroll in the Mitchell Hamline School of Law, where he bolstered his shrewd legal acumen and strengthened the pillars of his legal foundation to help his clients today. He received his Juris Doctor in 1981, as well as his license to practice law in Minnesota. He later became admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota and the United States Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit. 

With a penchant for progressing the standards of client service in his industry to greater heights, Mr. Braden stays closely affiliated with many prominent legal organizations such as the Minnesota State Bar Association, and he has served as president of the Rice County Bar Association and the 5th District Bar Association. For his many contributions, he has been rated AV Preeminent* through Martindale-Hubbell, the organization’s highest rating.
