Lisa Chesley

Born and raised in Mankato, Minnesota, Lisa Chesley embodies the deep community ties that define her practice. As a native of this vibrant regional center, she has transformed her lifelong commitment to her hometown into a distinguished legal career. In 2017, she co-founded Chesley Law Firm and, alongside her partners, has guided it to become a trusted resource for families and individuals navigating the complexities of elder law and its related disciplines. Ms. Chesley’s journey toward the legal profession began at Mankato West High School, where she distinguished herself in student government, debate and community outreach programs. These formative experiences ignited her enduring passion for advocacy and public service. She went on to earn her Juris Doctor from Hamline University School of Law in 2014. Upon graduation, she returned to Mankato, determined to contribute her skills and knowledge to the community that shaped her early years.

Under Ms. Chesley’s leadership, Chesley Law Firm has flourished, earning recognition for excellence and innovation. In 2018, Mpls. St. Paul Magazine honored her as one of Minnesota’s Top Women Attorneys Rising Stars. Her dedication to the legal community is further evidenced by her service as president of the Sixth District Bar Association from 2017 to 2018 and her tenure on the board of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA) from 2019 to 2020.
