Steven M. Graffunder

Steven M. Graffunder is an attorney at Henningson & Snoxell, Ltd, and he chairs the firm’s real estate practice group. He represents clients throughout the greater Minneapolis metropolitan area, and in addition to real estate, he handles cases and transactions involving construction and banking law. 

Mr. Graffunder has been certified as a specialist in real estate law by the Minnesota State Bar Association, and he has been admitted to practice in Minnesota since 1984. He is additionally admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States. As an undergraduate, Mr. Graffunder studied at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities, and in 1981, he received a Bachelor of Science in business. Remaining in the area for his legal education, he enrolled at what was then known as Hamline University School of Law, and in 1984, he was awarded his Juris Doctor.

In his real estate practice, Mr. Graffunder has worked on a variety of transactions and disputes involving commercial property since joining the firm in 1986. His caseload has included mechanic’s liens, zoning and land use, title insurance, purchases and sales, financing, closings, boundary disputes, and the preparation and review of lease and other agreements. Outside of the real estate area, Mr. Graffunder has represented banks and other lenders in matters involving creditors’ rights, repossessions, foreclosures, asset securitization, contract breaches, insolvency, garnishments, loan workouts and liquidations. His construction law experience has encompassed construction defect litigation, environmental law compliance, and the preparation and review of design and building contracts.
