Andrew Noel is a highly respected civil rights lawyer and partner at Robins Kaplan LLP based in the firm’s Minneapolis office. He represents clients throughout Minnesota and across the country. Mr. Noel has been licensed to practice law in Minnesota since 2002 and is also authorized to practice in Wisconsin, as well as in the U.S. District Courts for the Districts of Minnesota and North Dakota.
A key focus of Mr. Noel's legal work is representing clients in civil rights violation cases, where he has achieved justice for those who have suffered harm. His cases have included excessive force claims involving police and correctional officers, resulting in victories against the city of Saint Paul and other jurisdictions. His notable outcomes also include a $20 million award for the family members of a woman who was killed by a Minneapolis police officer, $2 million on behalf of a client who was attacked by a Saint Paul police officer and a K-9 police dog, and $1.8 million in a civil rights case stemming from a jail suicide.
Mr. Noel also has an active personal injury and wrongful death litigation practice. He advocates for people who have suffered economic and non-economic losses due to the negligence of others. His cases include premises liability, truck and other motor vehicle crashes, and litigation related to the 2007 collapse of the Interstate 35W bridge in Minneapolis. Mr. Noel has secured significant compensation for his clients, including a settlement in excess of $8 million in a wrongful death action involving a defective drain in a wading pool at the Minneapolis Golf Club.
Mr. Noel earned his Juris Doctor magna cum laude from Mitchell Hamline School of Law in 2002.
