Christopher John Wilcox is an associate at Christensen Law Office PLLC. Based in the firm’s offices in Minneapolis, Minnesota, he provides representation to people and businesses throughout the Twin Cities metropolitan area. Admitted to practice before all Minnesota state courts since 2011, Mr. Wilcox is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota and the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Minnesota.

A portion of Mr. Wilcox’s client base is made up of consumers who have become overwhelmed by their seemingly insurmountable financial obligations and who are thus looking for some form of debt relief. He has extensive experience in guiding clients through the Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy processes, explaining the eligibility requirements and the nature and consequences of each.

Mr. Wilcox also helps homeowners defend against foreclosure actions, and he has handled a variety of consumer protection claims, including cases arising under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, and the Truth in Lending Act. His practice additionally includes general civil litigation, representing defendants in debt collection actions and plaintiffs, as well as defendants in real estate and other business disputes.

As an undergraduate, Mr. Wilcox attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he majored in philosophy and received a Bachelor of Arts in 2005. He subsequently decided to pursue a legal education and enrolled at the University of Minnesota Law School. While he was there, Mr. Wilcox was an extern for a district court judge and was a student director of the school’s Bankruptcy Clinic before being awarded his Juris Doctor in 2011.
