Cindy Perusse, owner and principal attorney of Perusse Family Law, PLLC, has built a 32-year career exclusively around family law, representing Minnesota clients from her Bloomington office. Her practice covers Minnesota divorce, child custody and parenting time, third-party custody, child support, spousal support, property division, parenting plans, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, modification of decrees and court orders, child relocation matters and Early Neutral Evaluation (ENE).
Admitted to practice in Minnesota since 1994, Ms. Perusse began her legal journey clerking for the Third Judicial District before joining firms across Minnesota and California as an associate. That early foundation shaped a career built on the belief that families navigating divorce and custody disputes deserve counsel who understands both the legal and emotional stakes involved.
Ms. Perusse’s litigation work spans the full range of divorce proceedings, from cooperative settlements to contested trials, often requiring careful analysis of income, cash flow, tax implications and the valuation of real estate, personal property and business assets. She regularly guides clients through Early Neutral Evaluation as an alternative path toward resolution and assists families as circumstances change, handling modifications to parenting plans, custody arrangements and support orders. When relocation becomes a factor in a Minneapolis-area family's life, she helps parents understand their rights and options under Minnesota law.
Recognizing that every family's situation is unique, Ms. Perusse frequently collaborates with CPAs and mental health professionals to craft strategies suited to each client's needs – particularly in third-party custody matters, where nontraditional caregivers seek legal recognition of their role in a child's life.
A wife, mother and business owner herself, Ms. Perusse brings firsthand understanding to the balancing act her clients face. She earned her bachelor's degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, and her Juris Doctor from Mitchell Hamline School of Law. She remains active in the Minnesota State Bar Association's family law section and Women-Owned Law Firms (W.O.L.F.), as well as volunteers with veterans' legal clinics, domestic relations self-help services and as a court-appointed special advocate for children in foster care.
