With previous experience as a prosecutor, F.T. Sessoms of the law firm of F.T. Sessoms knows how criminal defense works from both sides of the courtroom. Those who are facing allegations of DWI, DUI, murder, criminal vehicular homicide, criminal vehicular operation, domestic assault, criminal sexual conduct, robbery, kidnapping or mail fraud in Minnesota benefit from his comprehensive approach to defending all who have been charged with a crime.
Mr. Sessoms began his career with a Bachelor of Arts from St. Olaf College and Juris Doctor from Drake University Law School. A regularly published author, he shares what he has learned as a prosecutor and a criminal defense attorney in private practice. DWI and DUI are his focus areas, but he also handles cases of prostitution, sex trafficking, child pornography, possession or sale of drugs, mail fraud, wire fraud, mortgage fraud, theft, embezzlement, gun offenses, arson, disorderly conduct and interfering with a 911 call. He assists clients with expunging their record and has an Avvo “Superb” rating for his outstanding service.
A former president of the Minnesota Society for Criminal Justice, he also served as chairman of the Amicus Committee, and he is newly elected to the National College for DUI Defense, and is a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Mr. Sessoms was also a former member of the board of directors for the Minnesota Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
Providing defense in both state and federal court, Mr. Sessoms has been successful in defending hundreds of clients in matters of DWI and DUI including convincing the Minnesota Supreme Court to ban the use of "sobriety checkpoints" or DWI roadblocks in the State of Minnesota.
