Attorney Profile

Howard L. Bolter founded of Bolter Law LLC in 2014 after leaving another law firm where he was hired to establish its employment law practice. He brings more than 30 years of experience to each employment law case he handles in Minneapolis, St. Paul and the surrounding areas. His employment law practice now includes coronavirus rights for employees who might be directly affected by the pandemic.

Mr. Bolter first pursued a bachelor's degree in political science in the early 1980s. Three years after graduating from this bachelor's program, he completed his law degree. His involvement in academia has also extended into several publications on human resources management and employment law.

Over the years, Mr. Bolter's experience has helped him win several notable cases. For example, in 2001, he argued and won a states rights case. In fact, much of his employment law experience involves tackling both state and federal litigation to protect employees or defend employers.

Mr. Bolter is also active outside of the courtroom and prioritizes giving back to the community. He has established two pro bono programs at the MSBA Labor and Employment Law Section. His work also includes serving as a committee member of the Labor & Employment Law Specialist Certification from 2009 to 2011. He then served as a board member from 2011 to 2016.
