Jacob Reitan is an attorney with Reitan Law Office, PLLC, which has law offices in Chaska, Mankato and Minneapolis, Minnesota. A top-rated trial attorney with more than six years of legal experience, Mr. Reitan provides unmatched representation to clients throughout the greater Twin Cities metro region, Mankato, Rochester and the surrounding areas of southern Minnesota who have legal needs involving any of the following:
·      Personal injury
·      Workers' compensation
·      Social Security Disability
·      Private short- and long-term disability
Over the course of his legal career, Mr. Reitan has achieved considerable success advocating on behalf of individuals and families suffering needlessly as a result of someone else's negligence or wrongdoing. He has also assisted numerous clients with obtaining the full amount of benefits they deserve following a debilitating work injury or serious job-related illness that has left them unable to work.
Along with fighting for the rights and entitlements of the injured and disabled, Mr. Reitan has become a champion for the rights of those in the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community as well as those victimized by school bullying. A tireless advocate for the rights of others, he helped establish the Equality Ride and the Right to Serve Campaign, and he accepted an invitation to the White House from then-President Barack Obama to sign the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" law.
Honored for his selfless service to others, Mr. Reitan has received the Brian Coyle Leadership Award from the Human Rights Campaign as well as recognition as a person of the year from both Advocate and Lavender Magazines. He also accepted a governor's appointment to serve on the Governor’s Task Force on the Prevention of School Bullying.
After graduating magna cum laude from Northwestern University in 2004, Mr. Reitan attended Harvard Divinity School on a presential scholarship, and he earned his Master of Arts in theological studies in 2009. He then attended the University of Minnesota Law School, where he obtained his Juris Doctor magna cum laude in 2013. He is admitted to practice before all Minnesota state courts as well as before the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota.
