Jim Carey serves as the President and Managing Partner of SiebenCarey where he assists clients from throughout Minnesota in the areas of wrongful death and personal injury. He focuses his practice on cases involving auto accidents, medical malpractice, nursing home negligence and abuse, and catastrophic personal injury.
Jim earned a reputation for winning big cases and sits on the American Board of Trial Advocates, an elite organization of accomplished trial attorneys. To qualify, he demonstrated significant courtroom skill and experience, high personal character, and an honorable reputation.
Most recently Jim was inducted into the International Society of Barristers, an honor society of outstanding trial lawyers chosen by their peers. Jim was again selected as a 2017 Super Lawyers honoree. He also received 2011 "Attorney of the Year" recognition by Minnesota Lawyer - an award reserved for a select group of attorneys based on leadership in the profession, involvement in major cases or other newsworthy events, excellence in corporate or transactional services and public service.
In 2010-2011 Jim was President of the Minnesota Association for Justice, an association focused on the importance of protecting consumer rights and dedicated to the Constitution's guarantee of justice for all.
Jim holds a seat on the Million Dollar Roundtable, a recognition given to Minnesota lawyers who have won million-dollar-plus verdicts. He is also a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, a national merit organization consisting of approximately 700 of the most accomplished attorneys in America.
Jim is certified as a Civil Trial Law Specialist by both the National Board of Trial Advocacy and the Minnesota State Bar Association, a distinction awarded to fewer than 2 percent of all of Minnesota's personal injury attorneys.
A frequent author and lecturer on personal injury, Jim enjoys sharing his experience at legal seminars, the William Mitchell Law School, and the College of St. Thomas. He is frequently recognized by Super Lawyers and other publications as one of the 40 Top Personal Injury Attorneys in Minnesota and is consistently voted one of America's best personal injury attorneys by The Best Lawyers in America.
