In 1978, Mr. Maternowski graduated from Yale College with a Bachelor of Arts in history, then attended Temple University Beasley School of Law, where he earned a Juris Doctor in 1984. Currently he is a member of the Hennepin County Bar Association, the Ramsey County Bar Association and the Minnesota State Bar Association (MSBA) and is the board chair for Eco Education. For the MSBA, he served as chair, vice chair and a member of the Environmental, Natural Resource and Energy Law Section Council.

He has appeared and presented CLEs and webinars to organizations such as Lorman Education Services, WCCO Radio and Minnesota Continuing Legal Education. His former clients include a Fortune 500 company, and he has also worked for the Minnesota Attorney General’s Office.
