Certified as a specialist in civil trial law by the Minnesota State Bar Association, Kathleen Flynn Peterson focuses her practice almost exclusively on personal injury and wrongful death litigation centered on incidents arising out of medical malpractice. Based in Minneapolis but also practicing out of the firm's satellite offices in Bismarck, North Dakota, and Sioux Falls, South Dakota, her clients come from those three states as well as other parts of the Midwest.
A registered nurse prior to pursuing a legal education, Ms. Peterson's medical background has been valuable in her advocacy against health care mistakes and errors, and she has been able to obtain numerous high-dollar settlements and jury awards on behalf of her clients. Some of her representative successes have included a $5.6 million settlement in a case involving an obstetrician's error that resulted in an infant sustaining permanent neurological injury, a settlement in excess of $5 million based on a surgical mistake, and a $4.6 million jury verdict in a wrongful death case based on hospital negligence. Ms. Peterson is an active participant in many legal organizations.
