Earning her bachelor’s degree in English from St. Olaf College in 2008, Ms. Bennett went on to pursue her legal studies at the William Mitchell College of Law. During law school, she was selected as the captain of the university’s hockey team and chosen to be a member of the MIAC Women’s All-Conference. She graduated with her Juris Doctor in 2011 and was admitted to practice in Minnesota the same year. She is also admitted before the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota and the U.S. District Court for the District of North Dakota.
Ms. Bennett defends her clients against powerful adversaries like large insurance companies and police departments. She takes pride in fighting for the rights of her clients who are marginalized and discriminated against. An understanding and compassionate attorney, Ms. Bennett strives to get them the justice and compensation they deserve.
Ms. Bennett has attained several multimillion-dollar verdicts and settlements for her clients, including a $20 million settlement against the Minneapolis Police Department. Recognized by her peers in the legal community, she is listed in The Best Lawyers in America publication and in the Rising Stars of the Plaintiffs Bar list by the National Law Journal. She also was named as the Attorney of the Year for 2014 by the Minnesota Lawyer.
A licensed practitioner for more than a decade, Ms. Bennett plays an active role in many legal organizations such as the Minnesota Women Lawyers association, the Minnesota State Bar Association and the Hennepin County Bar Association. She is also a part of the Law360’s Access to Justice Editorial Advisory Board.
