He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Minnesota Law School with dean's list honors. He was permitted to practice law in Minnesota in 2020.

After law school, Mr. Shek went on to work for one of the biggest banks in America, where he was involved in banking regulation. He learned the ins and outs of following meticulous protocols and breaking down complicated processes into their component parts. He founded Shek Law LLC because, despite enjoying his job, he felt he could do more to aid others.
