Michael H. Fink dedicates his practice to the resolution of family law issues in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Mr. Fink guides his clients through every aspect of marital dissolution, including divorce, child custody and parenting time, child support and spousal maintenance. Mr. Fink shares his expertise and insight as a volunteer attorney for Hennepin and Ramsey County legal clinics for parties who cannot afford an attorney. He also teaches continuing legal education courses in different areas of family law.
Mr. Fink grew up in Minnesota and acquired a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Minnesota in 1978. After a thirty year business career, he earned a Master of Public Affairs from the Hubert H. Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs in 2009 and received his Juris Doctor from New England Law in Boston, Massachusetts, graduating cum laude in 2012. Mr. Fink has been a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association and a member of the Family Law section of the Hennepin County Bar Association, respectively, since 2012.
Mr. Fink’s success as an attorney was preordained by his academic success during law school. He received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award and the prestigious New England Scholar award during his tenure at New England Law. Mr. Fink first works to arrive at a negotiated settlement that is fair and conserves his clients' resources, but he is undeterred by litigation and prepares each case as if it were destined for the courtroom. Mr. Fink has had notable success in cases where a father was awarded spousal maintenance, and where an out-of-state father was awarded sole legal custody, sole physical custody and all of the parenting time in the father’s home state. He has also had success getting court ordered parenting time for father's when the mother have resisted or refused.
