Patrick R. Burns is licensed to practice law in Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota and South Dakota.  

For 20-plus years, Patrick R. Burns has provided diligent representation to his clients in resolving their pressing legal matters using alternative dispute resolutions (ADR) such as mediation and arbitration, emphasizing a peaceful conclusion to proceedings. At the Burns Law Firm PLLC in Minneapolis, Minnesota, he takes on issues involving:

Mr. Burns completed his undergraduate studies in 1993 at the University of South Dakota and returned to his alma mater to complete his higher education, obtaining his Master of Public Administration degree in 2000, and additionally, he also received his Juris Doctor from the University of South Dakota Knudson School of Law the same year. He attended the United States Army Airborne Infantry School, as well as the Judge Advocate General’s School for the Army and graduated from both institutions in 2001. He served as a Captain and attorney in the United States Military until 2003. Additionally, he is a certified mediator by the International Mediation Institute, and he received his LL.M. degree in dispute resolution from the Pepperdine University Caruso School of Law in 2015.

First licensed to practice in South Dakota in 2000, Mr. Burns has also received his license to practice in Minnesota, North Dakota and Wisconsin. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota, the U.S. District Court for the District of South Dakota and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Moreover, he is authorized to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th and 8th Circuits, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces, the U.S. Army Court of Criminal Appeals and the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribal Court.
