Details
Focusing his practice on complex personal injury and wrongful death litigation, Philip Sieff is a partner at Minneapolis-based Robins Kaplan LLP. He provides aggressive representation to clients throughout the state and other parts of the Midwest who have suffered economic and noneconomic losses due to the negligence of other persons or entities. The types of cases that Mr. Sieff has handled have arisen out of incidents involving airplane crashes, motor vehicle accidents, medical malpractice, inadequate security and dram shop liability.
Mr. Sieff has received widespread recognition from his fellow professionals for both his successful track record and the ethical way in which he conducts his practice. This has included his receipt of an AV Preeminent* peer review rating through Martindale-Hubbell. Mr. Sieff has also been selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America each year since 2012, and he has been named as one of America's Top 100 High Stakes Litigators by America's Top 100 Attorneys. Some of his representative successes have included a $15.4 million settlement for a man who suffered third-degree burns in an industrial accident and a $25 million settlement for the surviving family members who lost their loved ones in an airplane crash that killed then-Sen. Paul Wellstone.
Mr. Sieff attended Cornell University as an undergraduate, and he received a Bachelor of Special Studies in politics with distinction in 1982. His legal education came from what was then known as Mitchell Hamline School of Law, where he was a member of the Hamline Law Review before being awarded his Juris Doctor cum laude in 1985. Admitted to practice before all Minnesota state courts, Mr. Sieff is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota and the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin.
*AV®, AV Preeminent®, Martindale-Hubbell Distinguished and Martindale-Hubbell Notable are certification marks used under license in accordance with the Martindale-Hubbell certification procedures, standards and policies.
