Robert J. King, Jr.

A partner at Ciresi Conlin LLP in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Robert J. King Jr. concentrates his practice on high-stakes personal injury litigation in state and federal courts across the Midwest. Since joining the firm, he has built a formidable reputation for representing individuals harmed in automobile and trucking collisions, medical malpractice incidents and product liability claims. Over four decades, he has tried virtually every category of complex tort case, and he has also undertaken commercial, insurance coverage, trust and estate, and class action disputes.

Throughout his career, Mr. King has dedicated himself to securing justice for people who have suffered devastating injuries or who have lost family members due to negligence or defective product design. He vigorously challenged the practices of health care institutions, insurance carriers and some of the world’s largest corporations when their conduct fell below industry standards. He believes that allowing everyday citizens to stand against the most affluent entities is among the greatest strengths of the American legal system.

Mr. King is recognized by his peers for his trial advocacy and ethical standards. He is a fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers, the International Academy of Trial Lawyers and the International Society of Barristers, and he is an associate of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA).

Since 2003, Mr. King has been named in The Best Lawyers in America and has appeared in Minnesota Super Lawyers each year since its inception. He served as president of the Minnesota chapter of ABOTA and continues to contribute as a member of the national Board of Directors. He is a former dean of the Academy of Certified Trial Lawyers of Minnesota and frequently lectures on medical negligence, product liability and trial strategy.

Academically, Mr. King earned his Juris Doctor from William Mitchell College of Law in 1980. He is admitted to practice in Minnesota, the United States Supreme Court, the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit.
